In our last article, we talked about communication, touching the reasons, channels, error, importance and means of communication.
Today, we will be digressing a bit but still on communication. Let's talk about 'Prayer'' as a means or form of communication. please, follow through as we breakdown this topic for your understanding,
WHAT IS PRAYER? (as a means of communication)
Prayer is a spiritual way of communicating to a deity (God, other gods) , an entity, object or person one that seem ultimate and or mighty to a person.
Our focus is on the prayer we say to Almighty God.
Prayer is a privilege, its a right given to us to approach the father (God) in faith and through His word and by the Holy Spirit.
Prayer gives us access, a connection to the Father, to get this connection and access, this means of communication has to be constant, stable and with faith not doubt.
It is true that communication should walk both ways, and it does....talking about prayer, some might say they don't hear God speak back to them when they pray, so they don't feel or see the need for praying because to them its a one-sided communication. some people think that talking to God is a one way communication, like a monologue, they you should be quiet to listen to God but no, you don't need to be quiet to listen to God speak, He is a master communicator, while you pray He can speak to your spirit, that's why it's called "spiritual communicaton", it involves more of your spirit than your physical thoughts or body', God is a spirit and they that worship Him MUST worship Him is spirit and in truth'. John 4:24
Reasons Fit for Prayer as a Means of Communication.
Of course! Prayer is a form of communication that has been used for centuries to connect with a higher power. There are many reasons why prayer is fit for communication, including its ability to bring peace, provide guidance, and cultivate gratitude. Firstly, prayer is an excellent way to find inner peace. When we pray, we are able to let go of our worries and anxieties and focus on connecting with a higher power. This can help us to feel more centered and calm, even in the midst of chaos. By taking the time to quiet our minds and focus on our connection with the divine, we can find a sense of peace that is difficult to achieve through other means. Another reason why prayer is a powerful means of communication is that it provides guidance. When we pray, we are asking for help and guidance from a higher power. This can allow us to tap into our intuition and receive guidance that we might not have been able to access otherwise. Whether we are seeking guidance on a decision or looking for direction in our lives, prayer can help us to access the wisdom and guidance we need to move forward. Finally, prayer is a way to cultivate gratitude. When we pray, we take the time to reflect on the many blessings in our lives. This can help us to develop a sense of gratitude and appreciate the good things in our lives. By focusing on the positive, we can shift our perspective and increase our overall happiness and well-being.
1. prayer brings us peace, provide guidance, and cultivate gratitude. Whether we are seeking comfort in difficult times or simply looking to deepen our connection with the divine, prayer can be a powerful tool for communication and spiritual growth.
2. Prayer brings us closer to God. Knowing someone is understanding who they are and how important they are in our lives which brings us to love them eventually. The reason someone might not like God is simply because they dont know Him, they're often ruled by the assumption and misinformation of what they have been told by some other person who also does not like God.
Lets look at a simple analogy on this, if you got admission into a higher institution, let's say you want to study for your masters and it's a new environment for you. the first day you go for lectures, it'll be somewhat awkward and lonely for you because you don't have friends. if you happen to sight a really smart person in your department the next day you go to class, you would wan to speak with them before you go home, you would want to get to know them and become friends just because to you, the person seems smart, intelligent and nice.
Now its almost time to go home and you look forward to making your first friend with a smarty but alas! a stranger comes to you, he/she looks a little rough on the outside and loud in their speech, they try to discourage from meeting your supposed smarty you like, they tell you a lot of bad stories about your smarty and even spoil his/her name.....that sounds really sad and discouraging but what are you going to do with the information you just got? are you going to listen to some stranger you just met or go ahead and find out for yourself if smarty is really nice or not.
This literarily, is how most people are been discouraged about God and give up praying to God. They choose to listen to side talks rather than draw near and know Him for themselves.
3. Prayer brings us comfort. When you talk to a person who you know can solve your problems about your challenges, you sure will get comfort, as you prayer your burdens are relieved off of you, you just feel so much calmness and tenderness in your heart, knowing deep down within you that it's been settled.
4. When we pray we settle 'unseen' battles, battles that are way beyond our capacity. As humans in a physical world, we can only fight physical battles, but there are battles that goes spiritual, only spiritual beings can fight such battles.
In a nutshell. prayer goes way beyond just communicating to God, in prayer, we become supernatural beings because we operate at a different level and capacity, at this point, it's not just our physical body working, our spirits are transcended into a realm that's not physical to the human eyes.
